A Belief in Beautiful Beginnings

We are firm believers that children children should grow up with beautiful things—natural materials that spark curiosity. We also believe that parents deserve things of quality—objects that spark joy, curiosity, and sometimes, a return to childhood. We’ve raised our own children this way, filling our home with wooden toys and storybooks that feel alive.

But when it came to puzzles, too many felt flimsy or too childish—so we made our own.

Turning an Idea into Puzzles

In our Weston, Massachusetts workshop, we turn original designs into puzzles families love.

We experimented with papers, boards, and finishes until every detail felt right. Each is crafted from thick, 100% recycled ESKA board and designed, printed, hand cut & hand boxed by us. Every piece is made with intention—sturdy, tactile, and deeply satisfying to the touch.

Our puzzles are double-sided—past & present, winter & summer—inviting connection and discovery. Kids stay challenged; each side offers a whole new experience to explore.

All illustrations are original and created exclusively for Láns—no AI, no shortcuts. We collaborate closely and invite children to test prototypes so every piece feels intuitive, playful, and meaningful. 

The Meaning Behind the Name

“Láns” is a dedication to our children (both names carry LAN). Hidden in every puzzle: a girl with a crown  and a boy with a cactus —a quiet tribute to the joy, imagination, and love that started it all.
